It's my philosophy - spend 15 minutes a day on your hobby to take a break from the day.
I came up with it a few years ago now and have spread the word about it. Most seem to think it's a good idea.
Getting back into the swing of it can be a bit daunting. You sort of need to really do it.
My layout has sat unfinished for a while. It should be further than it is. This part of the year can be incredible busy with work and 15 minutes a day is a good break.
Here's the layout. It's a spaghetti bowl but for me, it has good operating potential.
But it can be overwhelming. However, after going to the model railway exhibition at Rosehill and talking to some folks that I haven't seen for a while, I decided to put my big boy pants on and get on with it.
Starting in the first corner, and the most obvious place will be the industrial yard. Here's the before image. I hope by Christmas, that this will look very different.
Saturday was spent changing a couplers on a couple of locos, and replacing a couple of springs on wagon couplers.
Sunday was starting on the Walthers Redwing Mills kit. I plan to make this a Manildra Group mill.
This evening, I gave it its first coat of white paint. Tomorrow will be a second coat. I want to paint the windows in a dark blue to represent the Manildra branding. I also need to repaint the containers in a darker blue. Google's AI tells me it is a rich blue or Freight Rail blue.
Could be a job for tomorrow.
Until next time.
